Boys Volleyball

Rocky Mountain offers a variety of sports for boys, but until now, there has never been a Boys Volleyball team.

The Boys Volleyball team was started by sophomore Ethan Ganster, who is new to Rocky this year.

“I’ve been interested in volleyball for a while,” said Ganster. “I decided that I wanted to start [a team].”

Ganster got the team sanctioned by the Boy’s High School Volleyball Association and found a qualified head coach Andy Klussman, a former CSU coach, and three-time UCLA All-American.

Rocky teachers Kelsey Mauch and Glenn Gainley are also coaching the new team.

Most of the team’s competition will come from teams in Denver, Rocky’s team is 0-3 so far this season. Compared to other teams, many of whom have competed for several years, the newly-formed team is proud of their results.

Win or lose, the Rocky Mountain Boys Volleyball team is a great place for boys to try out their volleyball skills and receive some great instruction. As Glenn Gainley said, “The boys are on a steep learning curve this year.  Most of them have never played any organized volleyball before. We are playing against other teams with many years of experience and starting to hold our own.”
