Raising celebrities with different jobs

Celebrities are always in the limelight; news article after news article, people always knowing what they’re doing and privacy is not present in their lives as much people who have “regular” jobs. However their parents live a completely different life with more privacy and less press; here is a list of what celebrity parents do.

Ariana Grande may be well known throughout the world, but her dad is photographer and graphic designer owning his own business in Florida, while her mom is a business woman who owns a company that manufactures communications equipment for the Marines and Navy.

Katy Perry’s parents are religious workers. Her dad is a minister and her mom is an evangelist. Katy grew up most of her life religious until she released “I kissed a girl” and her parents decided to let her do her own thing.

Taylor Swift has thanked her parents for her success many times, but their day jobs are a stockbroker and a homemaker–well outside of the public eye.

While Scarlett Johansson makes a living playing roles like the famous Black Widow, her dad spends his time as an architect and her mom is a film producer, actor, and talent manager.

Ryan Reynolds’ dad is a businessman while his mom works as a salesperson.

And the list goes on and on with very few currently famous celebrities having famous families or parents.

Kanye West’s dad is a photojournalist and his mom is a teacher, very unlike the famous family he married into.

Justin Bieber’s dad is a film producer and YouTuber while his mom is a writer and actor.

Ben Affleck’s dad is an actor and stage manager with the Theater Company of Boston and his mom–like Matt Damon’s– is an elementary school teacher.

Meghan Trainor’s mom and dad have owned a full-service handcrafted jewelry store in Nantucket called Jewel of the Isle since 1987.

Adam Levine’s mom and also own a business–a boutique store for men and women.

All celebrities come from somewhere. They aren’t just magically famous at birth. Many of them have their family there to help and support them with their careers and some of their parents are just normal people like us.
