Everyone has a favorite pizza place, but two of the most popular are Domino’s and Pizza Hut. Which one do you think is the best? Domino’s and Pizza Hut have many great qualities, but vary in options and choices and prices.

Domino’s opened in 1960, originally called DomiNick’s, and was purchased by Tom and James Monaghan for only $500. Throughout the years Domino’s has added new items to their menu to make it the perfect pizza place. Domino’s has lots of different food options to choose from. Their menu contains pizza, pastas, breads, wings, desserts, and sandwiches. Domino’s changed their ingredients to make their food better, adding new sauce, new crust, and making their cheese from mozzarella, pecorino, parmesan, and asiago.

Pizza Hut was started in 1958 by Dan and Frank Carney with only $600 borrowed from their mother. Pizza Hut does not have as many options as Domino’s, but does have pizza, wings, sides, desserts, and pasta. Pizza Hut has added more toppings, pastas, different sides and desserts, and has changed their sauce. They only use skim milk mozzarella cheese, while Domino’s uses four different cheeses.

One large cheese pizza from Pizza Hut is $12.99 and a large cheese pizza from Domino’s is $13.49. At Domino’s, a stuffed cheesy bread is $7.49. At Pizza Hut stuffed garlic knots are $5.99 and cheese sticks are $5.49. Cinnamon bread twists from Domino’s are $5.99 and cinnamon sticks from Pizza Hut are $4.49. Domino’s and Pizza Hut have many similar sides and desserts. Domino’s is more expensive than Pizza Hut, but wouldn’t you pay more for better pizza.

Domino’s opens at 9:45 am and closes at 12:00 am on the weekdays and on the weekends it closes at 1:00 am. Pizza Hut opens at 11:00 am and closes at 10:00 pm on weekdays and on the weekend it closes at 11:00 pm. If you’re looking to order a pizza later in the night, Domino’s would be the best option as it closes later. Both offer delivery.

In my opinion, Domino’s is the much better option for a nice pizza and many different sides. Pizza Hut has fewer pastas, no salads, and different sides and desserts–that actually I think are much better. However, the flavor of  Domino’s menu items is far greater than Pizza Hut. Although Pizza Hut has some cheaper prices, I’d rather pay more for better pizza.
