We’ve Got Spirit!

Pep Assembly

At 9:00 am on January 26, Rocky Mountain High School students and staff headed to the gym to participate in the Student Council pep rally/assembly. All the grades gathered in the big gym to hear about Spirit Week and to get excited for Rocky’s upcoming events.

Each grade wore their corresponding class colors and sat in their designated sections.

“I like wearing the class color because it’s easy,” Della Fisher, a Rocky freshman said.

The assembly had many performers. The dance team showed their new moves that they will soon be taking to Nationals. This team once again showcased their talented dance moves to the school.

“I walked into the gym to support the dance team,” said senior Elle Brown.

Next was the teacher’s lip sync competition. The teacher participants were Chris O’Grady and Nathan Balk–with teacher back up dancers Aaron Knobloch and Satini Liufau. These teachers entertained the student body as they gave it their all in singing “Say My Name” by Destiny’s Child. The gym was full of loud laughing and applauding for the hilarious moves and performances.

“It was like a free energy drink,” said art teacher Missy Wolf.

Then the Student Council did “minute to win it” games with representatives from each grade. The gym was loud and full of excitement as each class cheered for their grade. The students who won the “minute to win it” games got 10 pride points “added” to their grade.

Also announced was the hashtag #loboswantellen. Bos want DeGeneres to come to Rocky Mountain High School so the school can showcase spirit and the Lobo Way. Be sure to hashtag any Rocky spirited pictures on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook with “#loboswantellen.”

Student Council is done hosting assemblies for the year and they really went out with a bang!
