I Tried the Whipped Coffee Trend so You Don’t Have to

A new coffee trend is blowing up the internet: whipped coffee, also known as a Greek Frappe. This is coffee that has been mixed to give it a light and fluffy texture.

The recipe is super simple; you only need two tablespoons of instant coffee, two tablespoons of sugar, and two tablespoons of hot water.

When I started mixing, I was just using a whisk, like I had seen people use in videos. However, it will not work without an electric mixer or hand mixer. I spent at least thirty minutes whisking and it did not get whipped at all. I put it in my electric mixer and set it to the highest setting, and after five minutes it started to get whipped. I added the whipped coffee to a glass of milk with ice.

I’m not a coffee drinker and don’t usually like the taste of coffee. I was super surprised when I tried it that I really liked the taste. It tasted very similar to a Starbucks coffee drink.  I also think that the whipped coffee would be great with a dessert, like with ice cream or served with cookies.

The coffee was difficult to get the hang of the first time I made it, but the second time I made it using an electric mixer it took ten minutes.

I give whipped coffee a nine out of ten. I thought it tasted good and it was a cool experiment.

I recommend whipped coffee to any coffee drinker or if you’re just bored in quarantine. It was a fun project and something new to try. This video is a great place to start if you want to make some: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cC6vWaRRydc
