Not all heroes wear capes
DJ Metro Boomin dropped his album “Not All Heroes Wear Capes” this week. It features Metro’s amazing talent to produce beats and gifted rappers including Travis Scott, 21 Savage, and Gunna. This is the third album he has produced, and the best to date.
“Not All Heroes Wear Capes” opens with “10 AM/Save The World,” featuring Gucci Mane. It’s a nice mellow relaxing beat as far as metros flow go.The intention of the song is not to hype the listener for the album, but to slowly engulf him in a relaxing rhythm to set the vibe of the album. Songs that follow this same type of flow include “Don’t Come Out the House,” “OverDue,” and “Borrowed Love.”
The number one song on the album, coming in at #2 in the US currently, is “Space Cadet” (featuring Gunna). This song is definitely more upbeat then “10 AM/Save The World,” and it features the rap talent of a Georgia-born rapper, Gunna, who discusses the situation he was in before his rise to fame and what life is like now. He said, “Check came from the fans; life is fantastic. I was broke as hell, sleeping on the mattress.”
To close his album he released a song featuring Drake and Offset called “No Complaints.” This song’s beat is a lot darker than heard from the very first song “10/am”, Both Drake and Offset use somewhat darker, lower tempos and melodies to rap over so listeners can see Metro took that in account while making this song.
With this album music fans can see through his different songs that he is changing they way people are creating and producing, setting up future rappers with his ability to customize beats specifically for them and show his diversity as a DJ. At just the age of 25 fans can only hope to see what’s next for the young producer and only guess with what he will bring to the world of hip hop.
