Keeping Rocky Students Focused
Rocky is struggling with students leaving during class and walking around the hallways to waste time rather than learning. As an attempt to stop this, they have started looking for a campus monitor.
This job would be to assist building administrators in maintaining campus control, safety, student behaviors, including monitoring halls, and lingering around unsupervised areas in high school parking lots. This is only 50% of their job. Another 25% consists of supervising students who are assigned in school suspension, contact parents (when needed) about attendance, and helping students with make up tests.
Ten percent of their job entails monitoring the parking lots and helping students get to class when caught lingering out of class. Five percent of what they do is putting them in charge of alerting higher powers of students who are violating code of conduct. A small percentage of their job is to assist the SRO’s when needed.
Most other schools already have an SRO, but it will be a change for Rocky. The hope is to have better attendance in class, and fewer children skipping class. Keep your eye out for the new campus monitor, ‘Bos.
