Trader Joe’s may not be the place you think of when it comes to skincare. However, the grocery store’s skin care line is the next big thing. Their products are organic, do not allow animal testing, and all under $20. But are they any good?? I tested out several to see.  

Rose water is an essential for skincare and makeup lovers. The Rose Water Facial Toner sells for $4.99 for four fluid ounces. Smell is the key when it comes to rose water, and this spray smells like roses mixed with witch hazel.

I started using this as a toner and setting spray for my makeup and I am in love with this product. When I started using the spray, my skin instantly cleared up. The spray is very hydrating which is great for dry weather and it works great to set and refresh my makeup throughout the day. When I used it as a toner it also was great; after I had washed my face I sprayed this on and it removed all of my excess makeup. This rose water is amazing and guaranteed to be the next “it” product of 2018.

Good, inexpensive face scrubs are hard to find, but Trader Joe’s solves that problem with the Blueberry & Acai Facial Scrub selling for $6.99. It comes in a small jar, and you can smell the blueberry scent before you even open the container. The scent is very strong which may be a problem for people who don’t like blueberries or strong scents.

I loved the texture of this scrub and when I used it on my face, it left me feeling very refreshed and smooth. I wouldn’t recommend using this product daily though. If used too much, it can dry out your skin like any other scrub and it may not be for those who have sensitive skin.

I love sheet masks but I also don’t love spending $5 on them. Trader Joe’s has solved another one of my problems with their Face Sheet Mask which costs $1.99. This mask is uber hydrating and leaves your skin glowing. The smell of the mask is a little odd; it smells like pomegranate mixed with cucumber which may not be for everyone. This mask was great and left my skin feeling awesome –you can’t go wrong with a basic sheet mask.

Skincare products that can do two things at one time are the best. Trader Joe’s Facial Cleansing Oil is one of those products, as it can remove your makeup while washing your face and it’s only $6.99. When I first used this product I was scared I was going to break out, but it actually left my skin feeling moisturized. This cleanser has a light scent of chamomile, which I like. The only issue with this product might be sensitive skin, because of the oil in the cleanser.

Trader Joe’s skincare is the hidden gem of 2018. The products impressed me, which was unexpected for an inexpensive grocery store skincare line. None of the products broke out my skin either, which surprised me Especially given that I tried them all throughout the same week. Trader Joe’s skincare line is something I would totally recommend you try.
