Wish Week is coming up, and so is Valentine’s Day! That means PEERS will be selling valentines cards for 50 cents to send to your friends, teachers, or even that special someone.
Interested in sending an anonymous valentine? There is also the option to send someone a song for $1. PEERS will not disclose who sent it or who it’s to, leave them guessing!
Once February 14 rolls around, PEERS will run around the building blasting love songs throughout the hallways and delivering cards and songs.
“I think it can be a fun way to give back to the community and tell friends and loved ones that you appreciate them. It’s funny and kind of cute,” junior Claire Lasher said.
All proceeds from this event go towards Wish Week for Rocky’s wish kid Aidan! Every year Rocky sponsors a Make-A-Wish child to help make their wish come true. Aidan’s wish is to go to Disney World.
“My favorite part about selling valentines is that we are able to help someone outside of the Rocky community. We also get to connect back with our community because we get to sell these valentines and go and sing in classrooms, ” junior PEER Ripley Bono said.
Students can participate in Wish Week in several other ways. One way is to dress up for the spirit days. The themes for each day are as follows:
MON. 2/12- THE FORCE AWAKENS: Awaken and be comfy and wear your PJ’s!
TUES. 2/13- CLONE WARS: “Clone” with your friends. Dress exactly like a friend or group of friends.
WED. 2/14- LOVE IS IN THE GALAXY: Wear red because it’s Aidan’s favorite, or pink, white, or hearts work too to show your love all around.
THURS. 2/15- THE LIGHT SIDE -LIGHT SABER CLASS COLOR WARS:
- 9th grade wear Blue – loyalty, stability, truth, justice
- 10th grade wear Yellow – goodness, warmth, energy

- Staff wear White – purity, peace, positivity, neutrality
FRI. 2/16- THE DARK SIDE: Black Out or Red Out (wear your Wish Week 2024 t-shirt!!)
Students can also participate in activities that will raise money for Aidan, like going to Dutch Bros and buying a drink, buying a Wish Week t-shirt for $10, buying tickets for $1 for the parking space raffle and prom tickets, and eating at MOD Pizza (2/13) or Cafe Mexicali (2/16), just to name a few.
For $1, students can buy raffle tickets to have a chance at winning one of the two parking spots that are right by the senior doors. The spots are red and have a Star Wars themed Mickey Mouse silhouette painted on top. Rocky’s goal this year is to raise $15,000. Last year this goal was exceeded, so let’s do it again this year!
