EHX-The Holy Grail Nano Reverb
Hailing from the famed company Electro-Harmonix in NYC, the Holy Grail is a welcome addition to any guitarist’s board. With three settings Flerb, Hall (cathedral), and an emulated spring, it offers a lot for its nano size. The Holy Grail is a beautifully designed, diverse and compact digital pedal. Reverb is a well renowned phenomenon in all types of music and somewhat of an essential to most. Having spent some time delving into the depths this heavenly pedal so graciously creates, it’s easy to understand why.
The three settings, as listed, offer a wide range of reverbs; beginning with Flerb which offers a wibbly wobbly space age flang that’s so prominent you can hear it waving back and forth even in the feedback. Hall adds this depth/spaciousness to the guitar that’s just unparalleled. You can easily get lost in the layers it produces, albeit eventually, they get quite muddy. This is still my favorite of the three or at least the one I use the most.
The last setting is an emulated Spring which gained popularity in the 60s and has maintained its staple status in blues/rock. Spring reverb can get far more gritty and loud, more so than its descendants.
It’s the most essential well known reverb. The “OG,” in other words.
Each of these three are so unique in their own ways. Numerous hours have been spent joyously fiddling with them and I’ve barely had it a week. I’m looking forward to what I’ll create while fondly reflecting on what’s already met its conception.
This pedal is well renowned which is reflected plainly in its accessibility and pricing. The Holy Grail is found easily for sale on any notable music retailer’s website.
