Mr. Ross set up his own voting booth to help prepare his students for their real world voting scenario.

Every year there is a new wave of 18 year-old voters who are now eligible to voice their opinion and turn in a ballot. This year’s midterm election was one for the ages, with more turnout from the age groups 18-24 than ever before. These Rocky seniors share their experience as first time voters. .

 

Braiden Balmer took part in this year’s midterm elections. “I voted because it is our duty as American citizens,” he said. Balmer took pride in having his voice heard.

 

Delaney Kress also voted this year and said, “ I voted to support my Democratic system and make sure everyone’s voice is heard.”

 

Bryson Rieber was one eligible 18 year-olds who did not vote this year. He stated,“I just dont trust and believe in our democracy.”

 

Connor Culhane was a proud conservative voting this year. He said he voted, “To keep Republicans in power.”

 

Jenna Giffin was excited to vote for the first time and said she voted because, “It’s my right.”

 

Adrion Folse was very excited walking into a voting booth this year. He believed that,”It is my duty as a citizen to vote.”

 

Jett Hoggatt took his vote this year very seriously because, “It’s my responsibility to vote as a citizen of this country on the problems and needs of the people.”

 

Voting is a privilege and a core principle of American government. In the past, democracy has been controlled by older and more established voters. Young and new voters are ready to have a voice in our society.
