Here at Rocky, we have many different options for lunch. Now on Wednesdays, we have one more–the infamous Rocky Wraps.

Rocky Wraps have been a Wednesday tradition on  for seven years. Rocky Wraps was run by  Kim Nigro and  John Berg for the first six years, but in the last year it has been run by Tara Gross. This year, the Rocky Wraps program will again be run by Berg. Despite a slow start this year due to the change in leadership, Berg plans to start serving Rocky Wraps on December 7th. He plans to do a trial run in his second period class when students return from Thanksgiving break, so that when they really start selling them again it is a smooth process.

Rocky Wraps are served on Wednesday because it makes it easier for the cafeteria staff to serve students in 30-40 minutes on a shortened day. Rocky Wraps contain spicy chicken, lettuce, cheese, and ranch dressing all wrapped in a tortilla it also come with chips, juice, and dipping sauce; for students it is $3.00 and for staff it is $3.50. This year, Berg says, “There are no plans or orders to make changes right now, but we are always looking for new ways to make the customers happy.” The consumer Concepts class that makes the Rocky Wraps was started so that students have the opportunity to learn employable skills, business skills, money skills, and customer service the entire program is student lead, with supervision from from teachers and the kitchen manager.

Students all have good things to say about the wraps, senior? Junior? Molly Wilberton says, “They are yummy and one of my favorite things to eat at school.”  Rocky Wraps will be returning December 17th so make sure to keep your eyes out for Rocky Wraps.
