As the school year begins, I asked several students and teachers the words they live by–their personal motto. Some people had short and simple answers, while others shared something more personal. It was interesting to see how different everyone’s motto can be. Maybe one will inspire you!
Jaxson Klith (Senior): “What comes around goes around. Good things come to good people.”
Ava Urbauer (Senior): “You only live once. I think it’s a really important reminder to just do what you love and to not worry about what others think of you.”
Donell Betts (Staff): “The motto that I live by is just to be a good person because I feel like if you’re a good person to everybody, then you live a good life. It’s very peaceful and enjoyable.”
McKenzie Klith (Junior): “I live by treating others how I want to be treated, and everything happens for a reason. I truly believe that your life is set out for you, and karma is real. So you want to get all the good back to you!”
Wrigley Cox (Senior): “Treat everyone how you would like to be treated.”
Cole Anderson (Staff): “So what I live by is actually from my good friend Mr. Wells. He taught me the saying to treat every day like a holiday. It basically means to enjoy every day as if it were a holiday, because usually holidays are a positive thing. Therefore, we should go about every day, like a holiday.”
Rose Kensora (Senior) “I live by the Rocky motto of prioritizing your peace. I really live by it because if something doesn’t make me happy or bring me peace and just makes me upset, then I just don’t do it.”
Barrett Moran (Senior): “Make the most of your life so that when you die, you have no regrets.”
Conrad Christ (Staff): “The motto for me would be that hard work pays off. Because it’s something that you can control, and some things are outside of your control. But if you focus on that, I think you may engage or not, then you might not find that right purpose. But everyone can control how hard they work and their effort, such as what they contribute as a person. And I think that through hard work is why I’ve ended up where I am now.”
