The War in Ukraine is Bad But Ukrainians are Fighting Back
The war in Ukraine is not going well for Ukrainians. There are more deaths and major injuries everyday and Russia is not backing off. However, Ukraine isn’t giving up easily. Ukrainian civilians soldiers and government and putting huge dents in Russian strategies and troop numbers by taking action.
They are taking down tanks, defending themselves well, taking Russian resources to take down Russian morale and strength, and working to do much more to save their county. And they are doing it well.
Ukrainian civilians and soldiers have begun capturing Russian soldiers, having them call their parents and posting videos of them on Reddit. Now that sounds a little cruel but these Russian soldiers have been killing innocent Ukrainian civilians so maybe it’s reasonable.
Ukrainians have also utilized the internet in many other ways. For example, they asked Ukrainian hackers from around the world for assistance and got it. Russian websites and the internet are being shut down and information is being stolen.
Ukrainians have taken that information and published it. They released spreadsheets of Russian troops’ names, data, and ranks. They began publishing Russian intel such as active battle strategies on social media sites.
Ukraine is also receiving quite a lot of foreign aid. Countries from all over the world are sending supplies including food and weapons, and civilians are using those supplies to take action. Some civilians managed to capture an entire reconnaissance group.
Additionally, the sanctions that are being enforced by foreign countries are beginning to greatly affect Russian troops and civilians. Services are being refused as well and there is a lot of financial fear surrounding those problems.
Russian civilians are getting angry because of the hackers and sanctions. Ukrainian civilians and foreign powers are gaining new support from Russian civilians as they further reveal the consequences of Putin’s decision.
One of the best things that Ukrainian soldiers and civilians are doing involves street signs! Ukraine asked citizens to change the street signs to confuse Russian soldiers going so far as to have some of the signs pointing up and saying words that don’t make sense.
Ukraine is doing a good job at helping themselves, but they can’t do it alone. Russia is a national superpower and so Ukraine needs more. If you want to help, donate to help refugees and Ukrainian fighters. If you can’t do that, spread the word because even though everyone knows what’s happening, not everyone has hope enough to help. Stand with the Ukrainian people.
