What event shaped who you are today?

“An event that has shaped me to who I am today is… my move to the United States. I had to leave my family, my culture, my language, all my childhood memories behind and get reacquainted in a new environment. Due to my young age and the small notice, I had no time to learn customs or the language and therefore I had a very hard time getting integrated into the community. Although it was very hard at first and there were many obstacles that I had to face, eventually I slowly started catching up. Due to that experience in my life I know now that life can be very hard but with a little bit of patience and a lot of hard work, things will eventually get easier and the experience will allow you to grow both mentally and emotionally.”
