Last year, the girls golf team played under the Poudre banner; this year they have a new home at Rocky.

The combined Poudre-Rocky girls golf team is hoping to make an impact in their first year as Lobos.

“It’s exciting to have a bit of a fresh start,” said new head coach Chris Nickel. “I think there’s a lot of good positive energy around the team this year.”

Seniors Payton Fischer and Denise Russo will provide valuable leadership for the team. Sophomore Lauren Axe is also one to keep an eye on as the season starts.

Nickel said that the team is working to represent Rocky with class, compete well, and improve throughout the course of the season.

“Every event is an opportunity for us to get better,” added Nickel. “If we practice hard and work on the right things, everything else will take care of itself.”
