Ron Clark
How do you feel about Rocky?
“I love this school, I graduated from here, and when I graduated I wasn’t sure if I wanted to be a teacher. I hear this from people all the time, especially people who have recently been in other schools, and I couldn’t agree more. And everyone says ‘this is like no place else.’ There’s something else about Rocky that’s just different, something good. As long as I’ve been here, we have cared a lot about taking care of people. Like Adopt A Family, it’s been here as long as I have, and we all contribute. I think every school has a motto and something they live up to, but I think Rocky does an exceptional job living up to the Lobo Way, and it’s cool. And every year we bring in five hundred new freshmen who know nothing about what the Lobo Way is, but somehow we get them to buy into it, and I think it’s through all the ways people connect with the new students, such as Link Crew, Peers, STUCO, etc. It comes from the student body, if administrators tied to push it, it would die so fast. The kids buy into it, and it’s really cool. It’s amazing to see our school spirit year, after year, after year.”
