Ms. Gupton
With the school year already in full swing, the teachers and students are busy at work, and new Algebra 1 teacher Ms. Kelsey Gupton is very excited to be a new addition to the Rocky family.
Gupton’s mother was a teacher and her sister is an elementary school teacher. Her mom and sister’s love of teaching, her passion for helping others, and her love of explaining things helped to fuel her love for teaching.
She originally started on a degree in engineering, but she soon realized what she really wanted to do was teach math. Gupton grew up in Colorado, but after college moved to Michigan to teach. After teaching for a year in Michigan, Gupton missed her family and moved back. After she moved back to Colorado she got a teaching job at Rocky and is loving it so far. “It was bit of a challenge, we move really fast!” Gupton commented.
Despite the challenge, Gupton is looking forward to building relationships, being a person students can come to, and passing on her passion for math to other students. Teaching isn’t easy, but with a very supportive family and fiance, Gupton knows she can handle what the school year has to bring. Gupton’s love of high school and math is sure to shine through and make this school year a great one.
