Boys Lacrosse
A sport new to the Lobos is the boys lacrosse team.
It replaces Fort Collins Unified as the CHSAA lacrosse team for city schools, a program that has been around since the 1990s.
“I’m generally very excited to get going,” said head coach Alex Smith. “We have a great squad of players from all four high schools, and we are going to be very competitive.”
Although the team is made up of players from all over the district, expect to see Rocky students Aaron Lambert and Tate Martinez as significant contributors early in the season.
Smith cited the team as one who could be favored to win conference and possibly advance into playoffs.
“Of course, we want to win league and state championships, but we feel like those things are just results of the way we prepare and play all year long,” said the coach.
Boys lacrosse kicks off their inaugural season on March 9 against Windsor.
