Boys Swimming

Looking to improve upon last year’s results, the boys swimming team has been working hard in the weight room and in the pool.

Although they qualified some swimmers for state, Rocky finished the championship meet with no team points. This year, the goal is to qualify more swimmers with chances to score there and to record a top five finish (up one from last year) at the conference meet.

Key contributors in reaching these goals will be sophomores Jack Miller, Sawyer Kruse, and Logan Randall, junior Jared Wright, and senior Taylor Scott.

“Last year we made a huge jump in our dual meet record and our conference,” said coach Rob Huey. “We were happy with the momentum we built. . . and are looking forward to continuing that momentum this season.”

Huey said the team is particularly looking forward to the Jeffco Invitational, a meet that will help the team learn how to swim in a prelim/ finals type meet like they’d find at conference and state.

The season kicks off at the Greeley Rec Center on March 9.
