My Ten Column

All humans have wants and needs. Fortunately for us, we usually are stuck thinking about what we want rather than what we need. These wants provide us with happiness and satisfaction.

Can we live without these wants? Definitely. These are ten things that I could definitely live without, but definitely wouldn’t want to.

  1. Basketball: Basketball is my favorite pastime, whether it’s playing, watching, or even playing in a video game. There is nothing I would rather do on a sunny day than go to the courts with my friends and hoop. Sometimes we’ll play for four hours and sometimes only 30 minutes. It truly is great for focus, exercise, and team bonding. Even though I don’t play on an organized team, I still think that I experience the same feeling.
  2. Chicken: Chicken wings ares one of my favorite foods alone. However, chicken is the most important and delicious animal. From chicken breasts to eggs, they give it all. I wish that there was a way to repay the chickens for how much pleasure and happiness they have given me. They call a chicken sandwich a “gripper,”this is because the flavor and deliciousness of the sandwich is so extreme that you grip the sandwich in excitement for more. Chicken will always be my first choice wherever I go.
  3. Playstation: My Playstation is where I connect with all of my friends, whether it’s in person or over a party chat. Everyday I use my Playstation and I truly believe that it helps me build relationships with my friends. There is a very wide array of games that I can play, from Grand Theft Auto to NBA2k21. No matter where I go in my life, the Playstation will have a special place in my heart.
  4. Ford F-150: This truck was given to me from my grandpa. He drove all the way down from Washington to give it to me. It means a lot to me and I have been driving it for about two years now. The bed is very nice to have because if I didn’t have it, my trunk would always be full. The stereo is very nice and the heated leather seats are a plus. I don’t know where I would be if I didn’t have my truck and I think I’ll drive a truck for a long time.
  5. Netflix: Netflix is my favorite streaming company by far, they have everything I like to look for in a movie or a show. Everyday I spend 2-5 hours watching Netflix depending on how late I stay up at night. From shows like “Breaking Bad” and “Dexter” to a “Chronicle of Marvel” show. There is no other company that competes with Netflix. No ads and unlimited shows is the perfect stream.
  6. Marvel Shows: I think Marvel makes their shows extremely well from start to finish. The specific shows I’m talking about are in a series based in New York. There are five different series with 2-3 seasons each. These shows are “Jessica Jones,” “Luke Cage,” “Iron Fist,” “Daredevil,” and “The Punisher.” All of the shows involve each other and it’s really cool to watch the movie with all of them in it after watching the shows. I’m glad Stan Lee made these shows and released them on Netflix.
  7. Money: Many would consider money to be a need in their lives. But I think money is a need to have in order to get what you want. All of the other things in my column would be nonexistent if money were not a factor in my life. I am very glad I enjoy my job now and that has made my life much easier. There are many things that come in front of money, but it will always be important if I want to keep the things that I like the most.
  8. Music: Music is relevant in every day of my life and it helps me get through anything. I can listen to music anywhere and that is my favorite thing about it. Music is a true art that comes in many different forms. I truly think it has influenced me as a person and it has helped me become who I am today.
  9. D.P Dough: D.P Dough is a calzone and wings restaurant. I would not know what they are if it weren’t for the fact that they are open freakishly late. They are open till 3:00 am and I order from then at least two times a week. Their cheese sticks are incredible as well as their calzones. I am so thankful for D.P Dough and all that they provide, I don’t know where I would get food late at night if it weren’t for D.P Dough.
  10. A hoodie: The hoodie is the most important piece of clothing. It can be worn in the house if you’re chilly; you can wear it on a normal day and if it gets cold–put the hood up! There are many different styles and designs of hoodies. This is why it’s not only the most important piece of clothing, but also the most stylish.
